Established Portland-based Clash Tribute band “Know Your Rights” is looking for new blood to join founding member Steven Skye (Joe Strummer) and new guitarist Frank Huston (Mick Jones). Started in late 2018, Know Your Rights has a strong local following and is known for its high energy shows and reverence for authentic renditions of the incredible music of The Clash. We play songs from the very first album through Combat Rock, and are planning to delve a bit into Joe Strummer and The Mescalaros and perhaps a B.A.D. song or two. We have paying gigs, however this is not a big money project, so you should love The Clash and enjoy playing the music live as the big reward. We like to play out about once a month and practice as needed to be tight for any shows without over doing it. You should have quality gear and a great attitude and be easy going. Ultimately this is about having a good time, enjoying the music and putting on a great performance for the fans that attend our shows. Bassist needs to be able to sing backing vocals and have good stage presence. Ability to present a Clash stage look and vibe is highly desired.
