I'm looking to put together a funk fusion band in the vein of Vulfpeck, The Meters, Les Claypool projects, Modeski, Martin, and Wood, Weather Report, Niacin, and Parliament-Funkadelic. I also want to incorporate some progressive/psychedelic rock elements from bands like Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Rush, Yes, ELP.
I've been playing bass for just over 30 years. I am not a theory/music reading player. I play by ear and from the heart. I'm also a guitarist and drummer as well so I have a pretty good sense of rhythm and harmony.
I would like to have members in the age range of 30-50.
I have a nice practice space at Sum Studios in Malden. This is a ground up project where any songs or ideas are welcome. I have a lot of bass lines in my pocket that I would love to form full songs out of. I have two booking agents that can get us shows throughout the Boston area and surrounding areas as well.
