MURRIETA, CA — A man suspected of running an illegal indoor marijuana cultivation operation in the La Cresta community in unincorporated Murrieta was arrested by sheriff's deputies but is no longer behind bars pending a February court date. Fuxian Liu, 32, of Long Beach was taken into custody at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday in the 35000 block of Avenida La Cresta, and booked into Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of cultivating less than 50 marijuana plants — a misdemeanor — jail records show. "The residence was used as an illegal marijuana cultivation site," the Riverside County Sheriff's Department stated, which noted that the investigation is ongoing. Liu was released the same day of his arrest on $20,000 bail. He is due to appear in court February 9.
