Position: Driver/Sorter (Full or Part-Time) Weekly Hours: 20-40 hrs Schedule: Monday - Friday, daily schedule will fluctuate within a 7:00am – 6:00pm timeframe Start: ASAP Pay: $18.50 an hour starting rate (W2 employee) The Happy Beetle provides subscription door-to-door pick-ups of “hard to recycle” items that accumulate in our homes. These items can’t be placed in municipal recycling bins, but also don’t belong in trash bins. We collect these items from our subscribers, sort them in our warehouse, and then drop them off with various sustainability partners throughout Denver and Boulder. Our driver/sorters are responsible for driving daily routes throughout the Denver area and picking up collection bags from members’ porches. They are also responsible for unloading and sorting these items in our North Aurora warehouse, as well as dropping off sorted materials at different facilities around town. Responsibilities may also include washing and prepping collection bags for distribution, weighing and counting recyclable materials, and assisting our Director of Operations. This person should have the following characteristics: Friendly and passionate about sustainability! Enjoys driving and being on the road a good part of the day Self-starter, responsible, and requiring little oversight Must be able to lift 45 pounds safely and be comfortable being physically active in a warehouse space that can fluctuate in temperature Clean driving record Ability to communicate effectively in English or Spanish We highly encourage COVID vaccinations amongst our employees Must be 16 years or older This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of sustainability and get in on the ground floor of a small, but quickly-expanding company. Our warehouse is conveniently located near multiple bike trails and is just east of the Stanley Marketplace in NW Aurora/Central Park neighborhoods.
