Providore Fine Foods Facility Management and Maintenance Reports to: Store Owner/Owners Representative FLSA Status: Non-exempt Rate of pay: $20.00/hour DOE Location: NE Portland Job Summary: Our busy specialty food store is looking for a part-time team member (20 hrs wk) to manage our grounds, structure and major equipment, insuring our building is clean, safe and functional. A successful candidate for this position will have experience in maintaining all functions of the structure; HVAC and roof conditions, landscaping, window and external cleanliness, major plumbing and mechanical upkeep (through contractors). All maintenance and cleaning work will be done in compliance with EPA, OSHA, and company safety policies, rules, and regulations. We will provide training to the right person who can demonstrate motivation and a willingness to learn. Qualifications: At least 3 years of experience as a building manager or similar/relevant experience Knowledge of building codes, laws and regulations Excellent project management and negotiation skills Good communication and customer service skills Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skill Skills: Experience cleaning large businesses or corporate buildings Able to work independently and with minimal supervision Strong attention to detail, positive, professional, customer-oriented attitude Ability to maintain a regular maintenance schedule on everything Roles & Responsibilities: Schedule and supervise maintenance repair work Assist with checking installation and service of building equipment Delegate cleaning and maintenance tasks when needed Monitoring the safety and cleanliness exterior areas Deep clean common areas such as offices, back rooms, bathrooms 2x per week Performing routine maintenance and make repairs as needed Manage all landscaping- trim, fertilize, plant as needed Schedule routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors Prepare facilities for changing weather conditions Collaborating with building owners and upper management on budgeting for facilities needs Maintain cleanliness (power wash) of all outside areas including sidewalks, garage door deck, and parking lot Coordinates outside resources for deep cleaning min 2x annually Changes light bulbs as needed Maintain clean all glass- windows, doors both inside and out Keep refrigeration compressors and coils vacuumed to avoid larger issues Work Environment: Days and hours of work will vary as scheduled. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items that weigh more than 50 pounds. Shifts that pertain to maintenance and cleaning will involve walking, moving, and cleaning all day using chemicals and cleaning agents which may cause irritation.
