They must be able to manage their time effectively and be problem solver. Dependability and ability to work individually with minimal supervision or on a team is a must. They must be able to oversee the permit process by collecting documents, submitting for approvals and permits, as well as handling all inspections. As a coordinator, this person will help clients obtain sign permits and regulatory permits that are required to see their projects come to life. A few qualifications this integral person must possess are: • Previous permit experience is not required but is a plus, training provided • The ability to prioritize and multitask at a high volume of work. • Being a team player with high attention to detail is a requirement. This position works with project managers, engineers, architects, estimators, sales, and design staff to ensure permit applications contain every required item to avoid costly delays in the review process. • Superb professional communication and organizational skills. A day in the life of the Permit Coordinator would be: • Submitting and completing permit application forms to various jurisdictions through various outlets (i.e., in person, electronically). • Working within our departments (sales, design, project managers and estimating teams) to prepare technical documents for permit submittal packages and assemble permit packages for review. • Tracking the permit status and communicating with internal and external clients.
