Beware of pet scammers. They ask for deposits before you can see the animal. I have responded to two different ads. One demanded a deposit on an 8 week old puppy even though I was only 20 minutes away. I was told I must put down a deposit before I could see a puppy, even though I wanted to come see, and buy the puppy. They said it was to hold the puppy for me until I could come in person. I said I could be there in 20 minutes. They insisted on a deposit 1st. When I insisted on coming to see the puppy 1st, they quit corresponding. Also, beware of cheap dogs where sellers insist on you paying for shipping 1st. Another ad, they had a very expensive breed (Maltese AKC), they were rehoming for just the shipping fee. I said I will pick up the puppy, I was only 5 hours away. Nope, they would only ship. Wanted several hundred dollars up front, would not allow pick up. Another way to be cheated. Beware of ads with odd wording, too perfect pictures.
