2 female pups We suspect Under 1 year of age Non aggressive Abused animals, so inquire with a big heart! Meet Sonny and Cher! These little babies were left in an open park adjacent to a busy street. While Cher sought refuge in the shade, Sonny was racing around looking for food and drink while clearly frightened. Sonny is more timid than Cher and takes on the role as the “big sis”, but we were eventually able to get close enough to give them food and water. Cher even ate kibble out of my hand. We called the ABQ shelter twice, but no one showed up to pick up the puppies, so we are now fostering them. We bathed them and within an hour, they were following us around, giving kisses, giving cuddles, and wagging their tails! They are incredibly loving and sweet. They are fearless and like playing with our 10-month-old puppy, who is three times their size. They also like to play tug-a-war with toys. Cher is quite affectionate, and once Sonny gets to know you better, she will also give you cuddles, too. It's crucial that their new home is considerate of their traumas as they exhibit signs of physical abuse by cowering when you pet their heads. My concern with bringing the girls to the shelter is that they will be more traumatized and adopted separately. They are inseparable and often do things in sync and it is the cutest thing! As long as you encourage them to use the bathroom outside, there shouldn’t be any accidents. They have shown zero signs of aggression, seem to be under a year old, and very clearly just want to be loved and feel safe. They often sit on my lap or just plop down right next to me and put their head on my leg. If you are looking for two loyal dogs who will greet you with wags, cuddles, and love then these are your girls! We want to keep these pups but we already have a puppy and our landlord will not permit it. These are dogs who were abused and abandoned yet show extreme resilience and a lust for life! It is very important that if you inquire, you have a big heart with compassion for these little pups and want to provide them with the life that any animal deserves.
