The DPW GROW Center, in partnership with the DPW Food Matters program, is hosting an in-person home composting workshop at the Sisson Street Park. About this event: Trying to recycle your food scraps? Want to start composting at home and not sure where to begin? This Home Composting workshop will give you the knowledge to be a successful composter! The workshop will cover the benefits of compost, the setup and steps to creating successful compost, and how to treat common problems that might arise. The GROW Center is partnering with Sisson Street Park to teach about the benefits, the setup and steps to creating successful compost and how to treat certain issues that might arise. The workshop will be located at Sisson Street Park (2701 Sisson St.) All participants will have the option to take home a composting bin courtesy of DPW Bureau of Solid Waste. The bins are 33 inches tall and 24 inches wide (almost 3 feet by 2 feet)so please ensure you have a car that can fit your bin.
