Description
Social Sundays Are Back! The ever-popular social and educational gatherings for dogs and their humans that we have enjoyed since 2010 but were put on hold due to Covid concerns have begun again! Come for the “pack walk” experience and meaty treats (which your dogs will love) and the free dog training lessons and training tools (which can magically solve most behavioral problems quickly and naturally). You should bring a bowl for water and a leash that allows you to control how close your dog gets to other dogs and vice versa to keep everyone safe. If your dog has not had all of the recommended vaccinations please tell me this when you arrive; you are still welcome to attend but there are some special guidelines that are especially relevant for puppies that we should discuss to ensure your dog’s safety, etc. If you can keep your dog from touching other dogs then you are welcome to attend, no matter how “badly behaved” your dog might be (e.g., barking loudly, lunging, attempting to flee in fear, etc.). You might be very impressed with how much your dog’s behavior changes within just the first hour! We meet every Sunday at 2 PM on the Banyan Drive sidewalk near the wooden Japanese Tea House and small parking lot that are within Queen Liliuokalani Park & Gardens just down the street from the Ali’i Ice Company. This is my weekly pro bono contribution to the community, so there is never any fee charged for the training, treats, or training tools such as special leashes. Folks wanting to contribute financially are encouraged to do so at our Christmas “Funraiser” Events which we hope to make an annual tradition. The Hawaii Dog Psychology Center is a Hawaiian 501(c)3 nonprofit, and donations are tax-deductible. All funds raised go to support our educational services across the state of Hawaii, with our current focus being on Hawaii County. I have worked with dogs since 1974 and in those 48 years, I have never once refused training or other assistance from anyone who needed it based on their inability to pay. I also offer individual training and certification classes for service and therapy dogs, as well as vocational training for those wanting a career working with dogs. Questions?
