Farm Hand/Kennel Help Needed

We have a farm, a dog breeding kennel and a fish hatchery in Pomona Park, FL and we are looking for someone who can perform the following tasks. Feel free to apply even if you cannot do all of the below items: • Groundskeeping: Regular mowing, weedeating, edging, pressure washing, planting decorative gardens, and planting/maintaining raised vegetable gardens. Pool maintenance (i.e., cleaning and upkeep) and farm-related errands (i.e., picking up hay, cow/horse feed, dog food). • Farming: Cleaning barn/horse stalls, grooming/washing horses (rarely), helping deworm horses/goats, maintaining/installing/rebuilding fences, etc. Knowing how to use heavy equipment is a plus, but is not required. • Vehicle/Equipment Maintenance: Ability to diagnose/repair some vehicle/farm equipment issues is a plus but is not required. • Kennel: We raise purebred German Shepherds and we need help keeping our kennel and dogs clean and well groomed. This position entails cleaning and maintaining both indoor and outdoor areas each day (including removing feces) in the kennel and in the farm/yard and dog play areas. Daily dog feeding, brushing and exercising, frequent dog and puppy washing/grooming, and some (minimal) dog/puppy training are required. Applicants must be able to stand for long periods of time, use a pressure washer, and be able to lift at least 60 lbs. Experience with large-breed dogs is a significant plus. Previous experience as a vet tech or in a boarding/training facility is preferred but not required. Some Saturdays (when we have puppies or need to be away for the day) may be requested. • Shipping Work: If short-handed at the fish hatchery, you will be asked to assist with shipping as needed (Tuesday/Thursday afternoons). NOTE: This position is primarily outdoors and requires heavy lifting, climbing ladders, and significant physical strength.
