Description
The Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS), one of the world's preeminent centers of Jewish higher education in NYC’s Morningside Heights, is welcoming the public to its first ever exhibition at its recently redesigned library. “To Build a New Home: Celebrating the Jewish Wedding” will introduce visitors to Jewish marriages from Talmudic times to the present, highlighting recent innovations in wedding rituals as Jewish sensibilities have developed in the context of the world at large. The event will feature visual materials like the ketubbah, and other rare Judaic artifacts, while also serving as a platform for the launch of year round exhibitions in the new JTS library gallery space. The JTS recently re-opened its reimagined facility, part of a vision to create a new state-of-the-art campus, complete with a new auditorium, community atrium, and library, to feature world-class collections of rare Judaica. The exhibition will be open to the public during regular library hours until August 14, 2022. When: Monday to Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Where: 3080 Broadway, New York, NY 10027 COVID PROTOCOL: All visitors are required to show proof-of-vaccination against Covid-19 and to remain properly masked during their visit to the JTS campus.
