ABOUT NALLE BUNNY RUN WILDLIFE PRESERVE Nalle Bunny Run Wildlife Preserve is an environmental treasure located on the banks of Lake Austin near the iconic Pennybacker Bridge. With over 6,000 feet of natural trails crossing through six distinct habitats, the 50-acre preserve is a unique showcase of habitat restoration and land management practices that can be replicated by landowners across the Texas Hill Country. The Nalle Family, who continue to live on the property and manage the land in partnership with Hill Country Conservancy (HCC), donated the property to HCC in December 2000 to preserve their beloved “Bunny Run” for the public to enjoy. As you get a feel for your new Osprey pack on the 1,500-ft North Loop trail, you’ll enjoy a hike through the Deciduous Woodland, Juniper Oak Woodland, and Cedar Elm Parkland. As much as we would love to have your furry friends join us for this hike, because Nalle Bunny Run is a wildlife preserve, dogs are not allowed on the property. We kindly ask that you leave your furry friends at home. ABOUT HILL COUNTRY CONSERVANCY Hill Country Conservancy (HCC) preserves vital natural recourses through conservation, community collaboration, and engagement to sustain our region now and forever. Hill Country Conservancy works with private landowners in the Texas Hill Country to establish conservation easements on their properties to protect Hill Country wildlife and crucial water features forever. Hill Country Conservancy is also responsible for the construction and maintenance of the Violet Crown Trail. Once complete, the 30-mile trail will provide a unique recreational experience as it passes through the urban wildlands of the Barton Creek Wilderness Park, the City of Sunset Valley, City of Austin Water Quality Protection Lands, and eventually into Hays County.
