This course is designed as a follow-up to the Astrophotography Basics Workshop*. Now that you have taken your astrophotography photos, how can you pull out the best of what is within the data? This hands-on post-production course will turn your astrophotography photo into a work of art. The course will introduce various editing apps from basic to advanced; the advantages and limitations of file types (JPEG, RAW); how to start post-processing right away with introductory knowledge; and conclude with introductions to several advanced post-processing tips and tricks including creating a panorama and image stacking.
Participants will have access to software and equipment at CCA’s new Digital Resource Center. Up to four MacBook Pro laptops are available for use in post-processing. If needed, please contact Jay Gallegos at [email protected] to make a reservation after registering.
Suggested to Bring: One or more astrophotography photos that you would like to work on in post-production in either or both JPEG and/or RAW file format. Optional to bring your own laptop computer and mouse.
*Astrophotography Insights & Basics is not a required prerequisite. Bring your own night skies photographs, or the instructor will provide base photos for participants to use to build their skills during the course.
