Description
Join us for a Wild Skills Family Adventure at Hilltop Ski Area on Sunday, August 14th! SheJumps' Wild Skills Adventures are open community events where parents/chaperones participate with the girls. Throughout the adventure, girls are introduced to a range of outdoor skills which include first aid, navigation, leave no trace, 10 essentials, plant identification and more. We strive to engage all generations in the sharing of knowledge and understanding. Connecting experience, energy and love for our natural places with the technical and survival skills girls need to get out and adventure. Schedule for the Day: The event start is a rolling one - where groups can show up as they want between 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm and move through the stations until they close at 4 pm. On the day of the event, you’ll register and get your specialized Wild Skills Adventure map which will guide you throughout the event. You start the day at Hilltop Ski Area base area with a lesson in Leave No Trace principles and a ‘gear check’ to make sure you know the 10 Essentials. From there you’ll board the chair lift that will take you to the top where you’ll wind down trails to different Adventure Stations setup throughout your journey. At each station, you’ll learn something new, have a challenge to figure out or get a treat. The Adventure Stations will allow girls to put to practice areas of our Wild Skills curriculum including animal & plant identification, navigation, first aid, sound mapping and more. Once you’ve completed the task at the station you’ll get a stamp and move along to the next.
