First Baptist Church of WinchesterWinchester, MassachusettsStaff opening: Music Worship Leader FBC Winchester has a position open for a music worship leader, starting right away. Each week the worship leader will lead our very small congregation in worship with four contemporary worship songs, one hymn, and a short instrumental prelude and postlude. Song choices reflect our progressive theology. We are looking for a theologically progressive Christian that reflects our beliefs and practices. Ability to play acoustic guitar and sing in a style appropriate to the music is important as well as an ability to model and lead others into the worship of God. Therefore this is a spiritual ministry position as well as a music position. Tasks Lead worship: Lead the congregation in worship, leading vocally and on acoustic guitar. Practice: Personal practice of music, lyrics, and stage interactions. PowerPoint: Create lyric slides for new songs in a presentation program such as PowerPoint for congregation. Music sheets: Create and print out (and/or find and download ) charts (chord sheets). Set up: Be responsible for the set up & take down of small amount of musical equipment in the worship space. Repertoire: Search for and find new music to continue to build our repertoire. Communications: Communicate with the pastor to debrief and plan ahead. Weekly song list: Work in coordination with the pastor for weekly song selections. Files: Maintain music files and records of dates songs played. SupervisionSupervised and supported by the pastor. CompensationThe job description above is estimated to take an average of 5 hours per week. At a rate of $20.00 per hour the position pays $100.00 per week, however, experience will be considered for compensation beyond that. Additionally, local commute expenses will be reimbursed.
