advice please

My son and I have been apart for years until yesterday when I picked him up from out of town to stay for the summer. He's 17 going on 30. I don't know what to do with him or what to say.. I want to get to know everything about him. His likes and dislikes, his passions, his struggles... and of course how me being absent has effected him.. I'd appreciate any advice...
