Considering moving to Eugene and want to know about the area

Hi there, I am considering moving to Eugene for a job but would like to know more about the area before taking the leap and up-rooting myself. Where I live is important to me. I enjoy the great outdoors- hiking, mountain biking, gardening, camping, and farmers markets. I have traveled to and through Oregon and know that the vibe changes drastically from one area to the next. I have spent some time in Grants Pass and was unimpressed with the gloomy weather and rampant drug scene. However I found Ashland quite charming. I want to hear from the people of Eugene. Do you love where you live, and why? What don’t you love about living in Eugene? I appreciate the feedback. Thanks!
