Bassist wanted for catchy cosmic pop

Description

I'm a Seattle-based singer and guitarist with a few recordings out already, but I'm putting together a full band to play out live. I've got a drummer and a lead guitarist lined up, but now I'm looking for a bassist. I'd like to find someone who can play very complex or minimal lines with a solid sense of both counter-melody and groove. Bonus points for folks who can sing while they play counter-melody, Extra Mega Bonus points for folks with higher register vocal ranges. Major points of comparison for the kind of player I'm looking for would be Bruce Thomas (The Attractions), Kim Deal, Jherek Bischoff, Bruce Foxton (The Jam), Tina Weymouth, Paul Simonon, and James Jamerson. Major songwriting influences include Elvis Costello, Pixies, Breeders, David Bowie, Aimee Mann, The Replacements, Kyle Craft, The Jam, Hedwig & The Angry Inch, Wire, Mekons. [Please actually be genuinely into at least some of that stuff. ;-)] Basic style is post-punk / indie-pop - so lots of hooks, layered melodies, and genre jumping, made by former punks who don't need to dress up anymore. Looking for folks who are kind, enthusiastic, expansive, and professional. Super into taking the music and the craft seriously, but not super into taking ourselves seriously. Hit me up. 💙 https://soundcloud.com/william_wesley_bullock
