Re:Dad dies shielding 2-year-old son from gunman's bullets

Are you aware California with some of the most stringent gun laws is the #1 state for mass shoots? In the case of the mass shooting in Illinois this young man had dozens of knives taken from him by police and had threaten to kill his family yet the local police never reported it and that his father who had to sign off to Federal authorities because the shooter wasn't of legal age said his son was of sound mind. If the police didn't report him and his father said he was healthy enough to have a rifle which law could have prevented this tragedy? The 2nd Amendment has been confirmed time and time again "the public's right to bare arms", a well regulated militia is only part of this right. I doubt you've read the 2nd Amendment thoroughly and it's clear you don't understand it. Constitutional Rights are not for sale unless you are a Democrat where they think all of the Constitution is for the right price. You can spin it all you want, but the *real* issue is guns are too easy to get in America. Sure you can say it's not the gun it's the person, but *that* person was able to get *that* gun the same day s/he started shooting. People with previous violent run-ins with police, etc. are getting weapons without any trouble. THAT'S the biggest problem with guns. That and the types of guns available. So fix that and let's see if it helps with these situations. But the GOP doesn't even want to go that far. THAT'S how much money they are being paid behind the scenes. So yea, these deaths and mass shootings can largely be attributed to Republicans not wanting to go against the money. Oh and to the wannabe constitutional lawyers, the 2nd amendment only guarantees you a gun *if* you're part of a militia being used to defend the United States. It doesn't give you the "right" to own a gun just because.
