Like the waves of the ocean… Not sure why so many of our shores in Oklahoma Are washing up so many West Coast transplants(our guess is something to do with the cost of living) But we’re not complaining. These capable, Able and willing workers cant get here fast enough.They are well mannered,armed with great work ethic.They are responsible,punctual.Maybe because they are new to our great state,they actually approach the work like it matters.For what they were paying for a 1 bedroom apt they are able to afford a 3 bedroom home with pool in walking distance to the beach(ish).Lake Hefner may not have the wow factor the Pacific Ocean has but what are you gonna do.Once we have gotten the kinks worked out and gotten the west coast transplants acclimated to their new home.By acclimated we mean constantly looking over their shoulders asking where the nearest tornado shelter is.Constantly assuring them that what they Are convinced is an actual tornado they have Found themselves in....was simply a Thursday.We had one guy who’s wife and kids spent their first 2 weeks in okc huddled in their bathroom under mattresses.They were sure our winds WERE a tornado.We,too,find ourselves needing to adjust/get familiar with the transplants.After a few days working with these west coast transplants we hope they wont start to get too big for their britches by our constant rather intense show of appreciation not too different than what a first responder might experience arriving on the screen of a bad auto wreck or passengers of a sinking vessel seeing coast guard boat/helicopters.Our hope is that their friends(if cut from the same work ethic mold)also,desire to make the move here.We may not have a walk of fame.They will have to make do with our walk of shame.Anyway...We could learn to get used to this steady flow of people who are shannigan free,not lazy.The more the better.Our clients deserve it!Maybe just maybe their is hope for a dieing nation.Must have 405 are codes no text only hires or call backs must have you own transportation.There’s hope in the western sky’s!
