Hit and Run in Lake Grove

HIT & RUN Incident location: Village of Lake Grove Beech Street (North of Portion road, west of Hawkins Ave, East of Hudson Ave) During the early morning of 5th of July 2022 at 6:18am our vehicle, a Blue Land Rover along with our Grey Lexus SUV were hit by what is known to be a local scrap metal collector. Neighbors who saw vehicle drive off have all confirmed it is a silver Ford Explorer. Via the pics I’ve been able to confirm that it is 2002-2005 Silver 4dr Ford Explorer, at the time of the hit & run the rear tailgate glass on the Explorer was missing. We also have video of the incident. The Ford Explorer has sustained damage to it as well as result of the hit. It is damaged at the drivers side front corner, hood and likely grill etc. Quite possibly with the remnants of dark blue paint, plastic etc still on it (from my vehicle). Other neighbors report that the Explorer is sometimes seen with a small open trailer in tow SCPD 6th pct responded and have recommended/requested that I campaign to you all in case you have any information (ie; may be familiar w the Explorer, operator) and/or have any Ring/Nest video, pics of the mentioned vehicle and it’s possible location / whereabouts and most importantly license plate info.
