A NEW duckpin bowling league will be starting this Fall at Severna Park Lanes on Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park. The format will be "8 Pin No Tap" which is a lot of fun for bowlers of all skills; beginner, intermediate or expert. 8 Pin No Tap is a deviation from traditional bowling. If a bowler throws his/her first ball and gets a pin count of eight(8) or better, it counts as a Strike! If the pin count is less than eight pins, then the bowler continues as if in regular duckpin bowling (three balls total). What makes this style so much fun is bowling scores are normally higher (averages too) and a bowler can easily bowl games in the 200 range in duckpins! The new league will start on Monday September 12, 2022 and will run for 34 weeks. Team placements (and prize money) will be split into two seasons; 1st half and 2nd half. This provides an opportunity for all teams to start a new season after week 17. In addition, there will be opportunities for bowlers to participate in weekly "special activities" to win prize money (50/50 raffles, strike ball, strike frame and others). These activities pay out the same evening. The cost to be in the league is $22.00 cash each Monday night. The team format is a three(3) person team (mixed) and the league is a handicap format as well. We only have room for fourteen (14) teams of three, so get your team together and contact the Severna Park Lanes at the number on the flyer. If you don't have a full team but still want to bowl, we certainly welcome individual bowlers too! Severna Park Lanes is a very nice house with a great staff, great food and drinks (alcohol too if you so desire) and convenient location.
