Join us for a great evening of jazz in an intimate night club setting to support free jazz education for Cincinnati youth!
The evening will feature performances by the Youth Jazz Cincinnati Elementary Ensemble and the Jim Anderson Quartet in the Albert Harris Hall at Kennedy Heights Arts Center's Lindner Annex, with complimentary wine, beverages and light bites.
Youth Jazz Cincinnati is an afterschool program providing intensive jazz music education and performance opportunities for Cincinnati Public School students in grades 4-12, under the direction of Dr. Isidore Rudrick. Students receive individual lessons and group ensemble instruction by top-notch professional jazz artists, instruments, afterschool transportation, and snacks entirely free of charge.
Started in 2019 with just 28 students, Youth Jazz Cincinnati now serves more than 100 diverse youth four days a week. Our student musicians have performed with international guest artists and on stages from the Aronoff Center for the Arts to the Harlem Jazz Club in NYC.
Hear the Elementary Student Ensemble as they prepare for a fall performance and study trip to Barcelona, Spain! They will perform classic jazz by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Benny Goodman and many others, with special guests the Jim Anderson Quartet.
All proceeds will support Youth Jazz Cincinnati.
