Description

The 20-hour class will entail many of the basics of EKG, such as an overview of anatomy with anatomical and conduction systems and how to read EKG paper and operate an electrocardiogram machine. After completing the basics, the next step is to begin the interpretation by learning the proper lead placement of 3,5, and 12-lead EKGs, unipolar and bipolar placement of leads, and the views on the heart from the leads. Then on to understanding how rhythms originate from different areas in the conduction system, such as sinus, atrial, and ventricular rhythms. Next, we will cover the different kinds of blocks. And finally, the various treatments required for abnormal rhythms and blocks. The class will begin on July 11, 2022, and will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays for 2 weeks from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. each evening.
