We are in search of a skilled Yard Attendant that has the ability to function well as part of a team. You must have effective organizational and communication skills to assist our jobsites, superintendents and staff efficiently. The primary responsibility of the Yard Attendant is to help meet the equipment, materials, tools & vehicles needs of the jobsites & office. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: - Previous customer service experience preferred - Positive attitude - Excellent verbal & written communication in English – Spanish speaking is a plus - Physically able to lift 50lbs on a regular basis - Clean DMV with a Class C license – Class B is a plus - Basic Mechanical ability. Equipment rental experience is a definite plus. - Diligent attention to SAFETY ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: - Maintains an organized and logistical yard operation: Performing selected office/yard facility maintenance and is responsible for the upkeep & maintenance of the Yard, parking areas, and buildings. This includes the unlocking of the yard gates early in the morning and ensuring the gate gets locked at night. This includes picking up trash as required, replacing light bulbs, tree limb maintenance, etc. - Assigns tasks ensuring efficient allocation of labor maximizing productivity. - Oversees facility equipment ensures equipment is safe, operational and regularly serviced. - Wash truck/equipment fleet weekly/biweekly, this includes exteriors, interiors, engine bays, undercarriages, etc. - Continually trains employees in the ergonomic and safe use and maintenance of tools and equipment. - Maintains the upkeep and maintenance of the equipment: Perform routine maintenance on all equipment including generators, compressors, demolition saws, chipping guns, skid loaders, skid steers, excavators, pumps, lasers, transits, etc. This includes regular oil changes, checking generators to make sure that they start, checking receptacles, breakers and pull ropes and replacement of filters. Arrange for the repair of equipment and tools as needed by outside vendors. - Conducts monthly safety/yard inspections, documents findings/observations and distributes to the appropriate management personnel. - Oversees inventory and insures accurate inventory. Conducts monthly quality control inspections, documents findings/observations and sends reports to appropriate parties. - Ensures that the proper tools are available at each workspace. Orders tools/replacement parts in a timely manner. - Ensures that commonly used lumbers are available in appropriate sizes. - Manages the logistics of all material (location, flow of goods) to ensure proper storage avoiding congestion. - Ensures proper disposal of all damaged/scrap material in accordance with company policies and procedures. - Ensure all containers and shelves are accurately marked to ensure proper product information. - Manages yard and warehouse ensuring compliance with company cleanliness and housekeeping standards. - Accurately processes the timely flow of paper orders. - Other Responsibilities/Peripheral Functions - Occasional travel as required. - Other duties/projects as assigned - Flexible to work as needed. - Complies with all corporate policies and business practices.
