The live blues is alive and well and appears to be making a bit of a resurgence here. To get the party started, Wreckless Abandon (Amy and Billy Hembd) do a 90 minute set followed by Kyle Renfro Band. And, it’s more than likely there will be a few ‘special guests’ at this annual blues soirée. Tickets are $10 advance/$17 day of show and available on Eventbrite. Only food and drink purchased at The Hotel may be consumed at The Hotel. Taco Town Food Cart and MF Sandwiches will be available and our kitchen is open with a limited menu for indoor consumption. Pets are not allowed at large shows only. Outdoors rain or shine. No refunds. Thank you for your support of live music, the venue, the musicians and all the people who make it possible. MORE ABOUT THE ARTISTS Say the name Howard “Guitar” Luedtke, and little more needs to be said. Howard is a staple in the Blues scene and with good reason. He has 40 plus years of playing guitar in both the Midwest and on the international stage. In 1964, Howard got his first guitar and today, when he picks up his Les Paul, he will transport you into the world of the blues. He's incredibly talented and his passion for what he does shows is clear. Howard can be seen performing solo, as a duo with his wife Deb Klossner on bass, or with his full band Blue Max, that includes a talented line up of drummers. Howard’s guitar playing is hard, fast and immaculate. He’s truly one of those players who lives in harmony with his instrument. That connection only comes with experience and an undying need to share this sound, which runs deep in your soul. ~ Scott Morfitt Dave Rogers has not been able to get enough of the guitar since he was 12. He watched his older brother in a band and was hooked from that point on. He’s played in a variety of bands, but remains firmly rooted in the area with his family and business (Dave’s Guitar Shop). His favorite guitar artist of all time is Clapton. This is evident in every performance as he seamlessly moves from one Clapton riff to another. Rogers goes into another world through his playing and you may too. There are no wrong notes from his 50’s two Strat with the maple fingerboard. Wreckless Abandon These folks have been part of the area music scene for longer than they may remember. Sending positive vibes through their music (and food at Garden of Eatin’) you are sure to find yourself getting lost in the music. It’s been said Billy sounds more like Neil Young than Neil Young. Featuring Mike Horge on percussion. In their words: ‘We’ve always been and continue to be influenced by all genres of music. You can expect a wide variety of blues mixed with rock and pop from the 70’s and 80’s along with original tunes. Truly inspired by both Dave and Howard, it is a privilege to be warming up the stage for them and we are so incredibly honored!!’ Up and coming artist Kyle Renfro brings a high energy guitar show filled with Modern Blues Rock, Classics a la Hendrix and Vaughan, as well as his own original music. Come one, come all!
