Description

Please note: Only members may purchase tickets for this exclusive field trip.  Join Marie Selby Botanical Gardens staff for a guided tour of the Downtown Sarasota Campus to explore different native landscapes and habitats nestled within a tropical oasis. The tour will focus primarily on three garden areas with exclusively native flora, including two that are recently renovated thanks to a Florida Wildflower Foundation grant. The Wildflower Garden showcases a mix of colorful flowers and rare species. Due to the unique physical conditions of the Rooftop Garden, it was designed to represent a critically imperiled Pine Rockland ecosystem with several endangered and endemic species. The Native Florida Garden features a hardwood hammock and tidal lagoon that attract diverse wildlife. These gardens provide opportunities for public outreach, education, and environmental stewardship. Marie Selby Botanical Gardens Downtown Sarasota Campus is a 15-acre bayfront sanctuary connecting people with air plants of the world, native nature, and its regional history. It is the only botanical garden in the world dedicated to the display and study of epiphytic orchids, bromeliads, gesneriads and ferns, and other tropical plants. Only members may purchase tickets for this exclusive field trip. Non-members may only attend as guests of members. Limit two tickets per individual membership; four tickets per household membership. The cost is $15 per ticket. Call 407-622-1606 or send an email to Rose at [email protected] find out if your membership is current or needs to be renewed.
