Description
Every other month Chattanooga Faith + Work + Culture (CFWC) will be hosting Lunch + Learn events for working professionals in the Chattanooga area to engage. Our 2022-23 Lunch + Learn theme is Re-Imagining Work. The last two years have caused us all to re-evaluate how we define meaningful work. CFWC desires to provide a space for earnest believers to wrestle with what meaningful work looks like in their context and how the gospel informs the decisions, actions, and mindset we bring to the office. In our November Lunch + Learn we will be focused on Re-Imagining Church & Business Partnerships. In recent history church’s have viewed community outreach with a narrow lens. Mercy funds, food pantries, and service projects have been at the forefront of engaging the community. These things are all good and worthy pursuits but what would it look like to expand our vision of ministry in a way that would leverage the business assets in a church congregation and building for the sake of the city? We are honored to have Rev. Matt Busby, Rev. Randy Jacks, and Hal Bowling join us for this conversation on re-imaging church and business partnerships. Hal Bowling is the executive director of Launch, a local nonprofit that exists to build a thriving Chattanooga where every individual who dreams of a business can be confident that the community will stand with them, removing obstacles, and creating opportunities for their success. He is a member at North Shore Fellowship where attends with his wife Susanne. Rev. Randy Jacks serves as the pastor of Miracle Missionary Baptist Church in East Chattanooga. He is a bi-vocational pastor who also runs and operates a landscape business. He also serves as a partner with Covenant Keypers which looks to support marriages and families in the Chattanooga area. Rev. Matt Busby serves as the senior associate pastor at Mission Chattanooga located in Onion Bottom district. He serves as the liaison between the church and what God is doing in the city. His responsibilities include cultural engagement, exploring the threshold between faith & culture, and building coalitions in both the civic and ecumenical realms.
