** For further consideration, please submit a resume and work availability ** ***U.S WORK AUTHORIZATION REQUIRED*** FOUR SEASONS HOTELS & RESORTS JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Painter Department: Engineering Job Summary: This is a crucial role in the Engineering department assisting with projects throughout the hotel to ensure all Four Seasons Standards are met. Make sure all projects are completed in a timely manner and nothing is left incomplete. Job Functions: 1. The ability to patch and paint interior and exterior surfaces to ensure all areas are well maintained. (30%) 2. The ability to maintain the physical property and furnishings in a manner consistent with that of a luxury hotel(20%) 3. The ability to complete other projects assigned by the Director of Engineering or Assistant Director. (20%) 4. The ability to complete all assigned work in a safe and complete fashion.(10%) 5. The ability to use all safety precautions at all times when using tools, chemicals, ladders, or other potentially dangerous equipment or supplies. (10%) 6. Complies with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact. (5%) 7. Works harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors. (5%) Competencies & Qualifications: 1. Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language. 2. The ability to complete tasks in a timely manner. 3. The ability to have attention to detail in areas that need touch-up work. Education & Experience: 1. High school degree or equivalent experience. 2. Two to three years of previous experience working as a painter or in Engineering. 3. Trade school preferred. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment: This role operates in a professional work environment. You will be out in the operation for every shift assisting in repairs and other projects given by the management team. Hours of Work: This is a full-time position and you will be asked to work at least 40 hours a week. Hours and days are dependent on business levels within the hotel. Early mornings, evenings and weekend availability are required for this position. Physical Demands: This position does have a lot of physical activity as listed below. Position: • Forward bend of spine, bending to the side • Kneeling, half-kneeling, squatting • Side sitting • Hands/knees • Climbing ladders, scaffold, stairs • Hook grip, spherical grip for hand and tool use, and fine-motor sculpting work • Lateral and 3-point pinch for fine-motor sculpting work • Weight bearing on upper extremities • Lifting, carrying, pushing pulling lumber and tools Forces: • 4 x 8' sheets of plywood weigh 40 lbs. each • resistive force encountered when using an electric saw (approximated at a few lbs. plus the weight of the saw if the saw is handheld. Repetitions: • Unpredictable, but all positions and forces are encountered frequently throughout the day; • Standing and walking is essentially all day. • Hand sanding requires continuous repetitive movement of the upper extremities while weight bearing on the wrist. Environment: • Exposure to vibrating tools frequently • Exposure to loud noise of electric power tools Sensory: • Sight and hearing would be essential for safety purposes • Good balance is essential for climbing and working on elevated surfaces. Subtask 2: Picking up lumber and supplies from the loading dock Position: • Lifting from squat or forward bend position • Carrying with asymmetrical posture - one arm overhead to balance plywood and one arm to the side to carry plywood • Push/pull carts of supplies Forces: plywood: 40 lbs. per sheet large doors: 150 lbs. miscellaneous supplies: 200 lbs. in total Repetitions: 1 x month supplies are picked up at the loading dock (5-6 sheets of plywood, doors occasionally, and miscellaneous supplies) Environment: Unremarkable Sensory: Sight necessary for safety FINISHER: Tasks: Strictly works with furniture and wall work (baseboards) Positions: • The possibility exists that the finisher would have to assume all the same positions as a regular carpenter. • Kneeling, half-kneeling, and squatting are used with frequency • Grip, pinch and fine-motor upper extremity movements are used with frequency • Lifting, carrying furniture • Standing/walking Repetitions: • Unpredictable; however, all positions and forces are used with great frequency • Standing and walking is all day. Travel: There is no travel associated with the position.
