No phone calls or solicitations, please. Martis Camp Club, Tahoe's premier private community and golf course, is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join its amazing Golf Course Maintenance team. The Assistant Superintendent at Martis Camp reports directly to Golf Course Superintendent. Under the supervision of the Director of Greens & Grounds and Superintendent, the Assistant directs and participates in the maintenance of the golf course, practice field, and putting course. Additionally, the assistant superintendents may be required to perform a variety of tasks within the community and club amenity areas to contribute to the overall success of the club. Areas of Responsibility Assist in the planning and scheduling of agronomic practices Supervise and train employees on the proper use of all golf course equipment Aid in personnel management, motivation, and evaluation Pesticide and fertilizer application, calibration, and record keeping Operation of all golf course equipment when necessary Contribute to the maintenance, function, and performance of the irrigation system Promote sound cultural practices to develop healthy and sustainable turfgrass Provide assistance with the water quality monitoring program Implement and conduct safety training programs for the seasonal staff Assist with the Landscape Maintenance programs Perform snow removal and Community Association duties in the winter months Other duties as assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent Employment Standards Abide by the rules and guidelines set forth in the employee handbook Posses a working knowledge of all aspects of golf course maintenance Maintain a positive attitude on a daily basis and set a great example to the staff Seek ways to achieve the most efficient utilization of workers and equipment Strive to provide optimal playing conditions for our golfing membership Welcome a demanding seasonal schedule Support departmental decisions to enhance the overall golf experience, presentation of landscaped areas, and community upkeep for the membership and sales team Strong time-management and organizational skills. Requirements Bachelor’s degree, Associates Degree, or a Two-Year Certificate in Turf Grass Management.
