Preservation and aesthetics are the face of any business. We are looking for a Groundskeeper. Under the supervision of the golf course superintendent, the Groundskeeper will manage the property grounds and nursery to produce, install and maintain ornamental landscaping for the golf course clubhouse properties and hotel/resort. This job description is a summary of duties and by no means an all-inclusive list, rather a broad guide to expected duties.  As an employee you must understand that a job description is neither complete nor permanent and may be modified at any time. Manages the clubhouse, resort, greenhouse, and ornamental nursery facilities. Selects, propagates, and grows plant materials (except trees and larger shrubs) for ornamental use on and around the golf course, clubhouse and other buildings. Designs flower beds and cultivates shrubs and flowers. Trims and prunes hedges and shrubbery. Maintains lawns and other landscape areas. Instructs/assists groundskeepers in routine maintenance of ornamental plantings. Applies pesticides and fertilizers to ornamental plantings. Advises the superintendent of the need for tree trimming services. Groundskeepers may be asked to perform other duties as assigned by management or the corporate office. What are we looking for? High School degree Associate degree or extensive experience in horticulture or a closely related field. Knowledge of the characteristics, growth habits and proper cultivation of a wide selection of flowering bulbs, annuals, biennials, and perennial plant materials, including both herbaceous and woody plants. Knowledge of the characteristics and proper use of various fertilizers, soil conditioners and pest control methods and materials. May require current state certification or licensing as a pesticide applicator. 1-3 years golf course maintenance, grounds maintenance/landscape experience Valid Drivers’ License Must have completed training requirements as demanded by the state and federal governments, including those required by the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard. Employees will be trained in the proper use and care of assigned PPE.  The company provides the required PPE.  It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE and/or equipment that does not fit properly to your manager.
