Kern County Bees is the small beekeeping business based in Kern County Ca. We currently have 4 positions available. Apprentice $15 / hr, Foster Beekeeper $20 / hr, Commercial Beekeeper $25 / hr, Bee Removal Specialist $30 / hr. The pay is a combination of minimum wage plus commission and performance based pay. Depending on work ethic, skill, hours worked and business performance the pay will fluctuate. Overtime in the busy season is expected. Qualifications • Apprentice - You have little or no beekeeping experience but love bees and the environment • You have a strong desire to learn and are willing to help in any way possible • Generally a 6 month program before graduating to one of our other programs • Preference given for someone who has a strong desire to advance to the other positions • Long term committed given preference • Foster Beekeeper - You have a skill level at or above Journeyman level • You desire to keep the bees healthy and love to teach and share your love of bees • You have a great attitude and are able to work on your own with little direction • Need a reliable vehicle that works for beekeeping • Also need great communication and planning skills • Commercial Beekeeper - Are you strong and like to work hard • Bee Removal Specialist - Requires journeyman level beekeeping skill but also knowledge of using construction tools and working at heights • Need to be able to juggle multiple jobs and tasks at the same time • You will take a lead, convert to sale with an accurate bid, perform the work and take the bees to a yard and care for them • Requires Valid drivers license, clean driving history and legal to work in USA
