Job Description: To excel in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of welding machinery, plant equipment, pipe welding, TIG welding, pipe fitting, structural welding, fabrication and experience with welding stainless steel. Must be able to communicate and collaborate within department as well as cross-functionally (operations, safety, engineering). The successful candidate must also be willing to assist other departments and cross train as needed. Responsibilities: Joins, fabricates, rebuild and repairs and/or installs metal and other weldable materials by applying appropriate welding techniques. Use specialized machinery for industrial welding and oversee machines that perform the same job. Must be experienced with typical shop equipment: Grinders: disc, belt, hand & angle; Drills: hand, magnetic base, radial arm & press; Band saws; vertical and horizontal. Read, interprets blueprints, specifications, diagram, or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. Moves, maintains, assembles, repairs, installs or dismantles machinery. Troubleshoots problems and repairs or replaces worn or broken parts as necessary. Collaborate with maintenance staff and Roustabout. Involved in routine tasks, such as lubrication of machinery, seal replacement, cleaning of parts during an overhaul, adjusting valves and seals, investigating breakdowns and preventative maintenance. Assess welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify errors and repair as needed, specifically stainless steel. Safely operates equipment and machinery required to remove and install equipment and material including but not limited to manlift and forklift. Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes. Weld components in all positions, 1G – 6G. You will start out accruing PTO at a rate of 3 weeks per year. We also have 401k with employer matching of 3% after your first 90 days. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent qualification. A valid certificate in welding from an accredited institution is preferred. Must be able to weld using MIG, TIG and Stick in the 6G position, Knowledge of AWS standard weld symbols. A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a welder. Excellent knowledge of welding machinery, electrical equipment, and manual tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and designs. Intermediate math skills Outstanding attention to detail. Be willing to cross train.
