Long established NJ developer / builder / architecture & engineering firm has full time opening for HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR (non-union) with 5 to 10+ years full-time experience on various excavators, dump trucks, other heavy machines for general sitework, underground utilities excavation/installation, shoot grades & stake out areas. Multiple large high-rise residential projects with years of work ahead— long-term opportunity for professional team player used to large construction projects. Job reports to sitework / utilities superintendent & senior project manager: join in-house team of civil engineers and more than a dozen operators, skilled site workers. Great safety record. COMPENSATION: -Very competitive hourly rate based on experience & skills on (non-union). Generous benefits: paid parking, health/dental/vision, 401K, paid sick/personal days, vacation, holidays. Some overtime required. EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: -5 to 10+ years’ heavy machine operating, inspecting and basic maintenance on excavators, dump trucks, cats, backhoes, skid steers, lulls, trackhoes, etc. CDL an advantage if you have it. -General sitework, roadwork, utilities for mid & high rise residential projects underway. -Excavating, digging, trenching, grading, move dirt, old debris & new construction materials -Physically able & willing to work on the ground as needed to guide/assist site workers, shoot grades, stakeout areas, read plans/drawings. -Skilled with tools, materials, equipment for safe, effective, independent machine operation REQUIREMENTS / PREFERENCES: -English required. -Live in, or reasonable commute to Jersey City NJ. -Proof of legal status to work in US; current drivers license; social security card. -Some overtime required. -CDL, OSHA certifications, other training / certifications an advantage. -References from past employers an advantage.
