DUBLIN, CA — First responders rescued a red-tailed hawk stuck in a tree Wednesday morning. The Alameda County fire and Dublin police departments arrived around 9 a.m. at Dublin's Emerald Glen Park and found that the bird had become entangled in a kite string, according to Alameda County Fire. Though the hawk was far from the trunk and the towering branch stood well above the heads of the first responders, they set out to save the struggling bird. pic.twitter.com/TgsDW69VxK— Alameda County Fire (@AlamedaCoFire) December 30, 2020 First responders held onto four long ropes tied to the top rung of a ladder — two on each side — to steady the ladder as a firefighter held it straight in the air. Another firefighter climbed to the top of the ladder and cut the string that bound the hawk to a tree. It was a sight to behold. I know he was fine but I was nervous for the guy on the ladder.Y'all are way braver than me. Today at 9:05 am, @alcofirefighter and @DublinPIO Police Services responded to a red tail hawk caught in a kite string in a tree. FFs arrived and performed an auditorium raise allowing a FF to cut the line with a pike pole.
