Are you looking for an opportunity to lead a great group of instructors in service provision of struggling youth 12-17 years of age? Are you the type of person that wants just the right mixture of administrative time and overnight wilderness training of a field team? This is the position for you! The Field Director is a core member of the First Light Wilderness management team. The mission of the Field Director is to ensure the safety in the field and that all of FLW policies and procedures are being followed. This position will be expected to manage the day to day maintenance of the field while in the field and office. The Field Director (FD) creates a structured training and support system for the Wilderness Field Instructors as well supporting the adventure programming of the youth therapeutic program. The Field Director ensures a safe and therapeutic milieu for our groups of 12-17-year-old struggling teens. The Field Director collaborates with the Program Director on all matters concerning client and field operations and programming which includes and is not limited to planning group itineraries, assisting in the management of Field Instructors' schedules, professional development, crisis response intervention and prevention, policy implementation, and direct care of clients. There is a 90-day training and assessment period. The training period provides opportunity for the Field Director candidate to learn our intensive clinical modality through experiential training and acquire a deep understanding of Field policy and procedures. During this assessment phase the applicant is on a rotating and variable shift with direct care responsibilities. If this is the job for you, Apply Now! Qualifications: Must be at least 25 years of age and a minimum of 2 years management experience in the adventure or outdoor field with at-risk youth, or comparable experience. Possess a BS/BA in a related field. Must have excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Must be able to lift and carry 50+ pound for extended duration over uneven terrain. Knowledge and skill to camp competently and safely in four-season conditions preferred. Certified Wilderness First Responder (including CPR) preferred.
