Join Vivian's Door as we launch the Black Digital Divas/Dudes STEM program from 8:15 am to 12:15 pm at 305 Mamga Drive, Mobile, AL 36603. The Digital Divas/Dudes Bootcamp exposes youth of color, ages 12-21, to STEM careers, giving them lived experiences, fostering self-discovery, and creating focused paths to tech careers. Registration is FREE! Explore being an entrepreneur. Explore creative careers. Explore science and technology careers. The program includes breakfast and lunch. After the Digital Divas/Dudes Bootcamp, our Market Festival will follow from 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the same location. The Market Festival includes a food give-away. This event is culturally enriching, business savvy, educational, and family friendly. Bring your lawn chairs, plan to stay for the day, and have lots of fun. Bootcamp Sessions: Session 1: Creative Careers – Participants learn about the importance of communication and the strength of words and imagery. They will learn about digital media tools with practical exercises in creating social media posts, interviewing community members, creating websites, and capturing community activities through photography, video, animation, stills, and stories. Session 2: Science Careers – Participants learn about careers in science, engineering, software development, and more. This track's focus is to build confidence and explore STEM fields. Session 3: Entrepreneurship – Participants learn about entrepreneurship and how a business works. They will learn how to take an idea from concept to a plan, teaching the business basics of pricing/revenue/costs of products/services, identifying the target audience, and marketing. Session 4: Selfcare – Participants learn the importance of self-care and how it is necessary for building self-esteem, self-expression, and self-confidence. Explore being an entrepreneur.
