Description

Join the Boston Music Project and the Esplanade Association at the Stoneman Playground on the Esplanade for family-friendly music and movement programming for children and families of all ages! Music and Movement is a free summer-long, interactive music program at the Stoneman Playground designed for children and their caregivers. Each week, children will sing songs, dance to music, and enjoy storytime led by trained Boston Music Project teaching artists. Caregivers are encouraged to attend and take part in the music games with their children. Music and Movement sessions will be 45 minutes long and take place on the hour from 10am to 12pm every Friday at the Stoneman Playground from July 15 through September 2. Registration is highly encouraged. We look forward to making music and moving with you all summer long! About Boston Music Project For 10 years, the Boston Music Project has provided music-based Creative Youth Development programming to our City’s most vulnerable youth. We have grown from serving 50, K-5th grade students at Boston Public School's Josiah Quincy Elementary School to now serving over 650, Pre-K-12th grade students at ten Boston schools! Through before, in-school, and after-school programs, students unleash their musical creativity, developing their instrumental skills on string, brass, and wind instruments, gaining new skills in music composition, improvisation, and active listening, and developing social-emotional skills to find success in music, school, and life.
