Join University Christian Church and Rev. Jon Davis (PhD) in Cincinnati for this two-day prayer retreat for those living, working, studying, and worshiping on the frontlines of the Gospel. This interactive workshop will help participants see themselves as empowered ambassadors for God's kingdom, ready to engage mission for homes, neighborhoods, and cities. Together, we will learn why bold mission must be paired with equally bold prayers—and start practicing declarative and authoritative prayer for our communities. Jon will use his recently published book, A Trowel and a Sword (co-written by Verlon Fosner) to equip participants with tools to become effective gospel workers: a trowel of evangelism in one hand and sword of prayer in the other. About Jon DavisJon Davis is a Mission Strategist for Fresh Expressions US, a movement that helps established churches reach new people with new kinds of Christian communities. A recognized leader in the Episcopal Church and beyond, Jon has wisdom to offer the church in the areas of youth ministry, worship and liturgy, church growth and planting, missions, conference leadership and more. Jon currently serves part-time as a vicar for Christ Episcopal Church in Cedar Key, Florida, in addition to his staff role with Fresh Expressions US. He and his wife of thirty years, Beth, live in Oviedo, Florida with a couple of horses, a number of cats, chickens, English Bulldogs and other critters.
