It's that time again! 20 miles on the Kaw, the heat, the low flow and the duration make this annual event an Asskicker - usually! Spend the entire day with the Dirty Girls on the Kansas River we will paddle and search for the channel or maybe even walk a bit. We will also explore the sandbars, have some water fights and enjoy a really great day! This event will take you from Lawrence to DeSoto. REQUIREMENTS: If you haven't paddled the Kaw before you must be cleared as a paddler through Denise and Jennifer. This event generally requires a good tolerance for heat, a long work day and patience for sand in your pants. You will receive a detailed informational email with maps and location of gear drop and check in 2 days before the event when you have pre-registered. Details... This event INCLUDES a special event shirt - that cost is included in the ticket. Please email your shirt size to [email protected] when you register. CHECK IN: 8:30am at the DeSoto River Access Ramp to load the bus for a ride to our starting location in Lawrence. GEAR DROP: OYO's will gear drop in Lawrence at 7:30am in order to have time to get to DeSoto to board the bus. Bring: Sunscreen, GALLON of WATER, electrolyte replacements, lots hearty snacks and lunch, beverages of choice. WEAR: Clothing that can both get damp and dry quickly, sun protectant clothing, a sarong or light fabric to get wet and drape across your body to stay cool, hat, wear water shoes or old tennis shoes FLIP FLOPS and CROCS ARE NOT OK Expected time commitment: Seriously ALL DAY! We usually get off river early evening. However long it takes, we don't rush the river, we go with the flow! Regular Rental: $75 Club Rental: $65 Oyo = Own your own kayak and gear Regular OYO: $55 Club OYO: $50 Dirty Girl Adventures Event Refund Policy: Refunds are given up to THREE weeks before the date of the event no questions asked. After that, refunds are not given unless there are exceptional circumstances. Dirty Girl Adventures may cancel or modify an event due to weather or conditions. Everyone will receive a refund if that is the reason for the cancellation. We will paddle and hike in cool, rainy or snowy conditions. Cancellation only occurs in severe weather or other dangerous conditions. What are you paying for? It's more than a rented kayak, it's a guided experience! We will lift and haul all the gear you need for your adventure. In addition, we will share facts and stories about the MIGHTY KAW. We will also provide instruction, support, guidance and safety information before and during each event. We will be there with you for the duration of the event doing our best to help you remain comfortable and engaged in the adventure. You will have the opportunity to ride the Dirty Bus as your shuttle from one point to the other.
