Description

“If we want to live healthy lives as women, we need the space to grieve our asses off as often as we feel moved.” - Mama Gena Many of us have been taught to smile, or be polite, even through the most challenging of times. Times when inside we felt anything but smiley. Honoring all parts of our humanity can be restorative, cleansing, and a way to practice self love. A healthy way to honor and release some of our more charged emotions is to allow space for them and to move them through our bodies with physical movement, sounds, honest communication, and having the experience of being heard/seen/gotten. What you resist persists. July 9th we invite the *women* (only) of Austin (and nearby) to come, as Mama Gena would say, “swamp” with us. In this contained, facilitated environment we’ll: THE NIGHT 5:45 - 6:15 | Welcome one another + Check-in *Early arrival recommended if you'd like to up your ante with some boxing equipment for your experience 6:15 | Doors Close - NO EXCEPTIONS 6:15 - 6:30 | Setting the ground rules for a safe and respectful environment 6:30 - 7:05 | Music + Free Movement + Free Expression *A-la Alanis “You outta know”(!) and blood pumping music to let you physically express what you might not be saying out loud 7:05 - 7:15 | Break 7:15 - 8:00 | Group exercise diving deep into one area of upset 8:00 - 8:20 | Facilitated group conversation 8:20 - 8:30 | Close Intentions: 1. For you to leave having had a space to express and move through some of your unexpressed emotions 2. For you to experience being seen and heard 3. To leave you with tools to bring home into your own self practice
