Hi friends! 😄
Welcome to DFW Young & Social, a growing community for people ages 25-40 who want to try out new activities while building connections!
Today, as we get ready for our Vitruvian Salsa Festival outing in August (keep an eye out for that event) let's sample Salsa's sister dance: The intimate, romantic Bachata!
Bachata has exploded in popularity in the USA over the last five or so years. Now, pretty much every Salsa night plays tons of Bachata, too!
Bachata is an easy, beginner-friendly dance, with a slower tempo than Salsa. If you've never done it before, don't worry—I'll show you the ropes from the ground up. If you *have* done it before, I always layer in technique as I teach, so you'll have plenty to focus on.

What to Wear:
Clothing:
There's no formal dress code, but wear something you feel comfortable moving in! Women often wear blouses and jeans, or dresses (if the skirt flares, or is extra short, I recommend shorts underneath!) Men often wear t-shirts and jeans, or button-downs and slacks. Dress up if you like, no pressure if you don't!
Shoes:
Smooth-soled shoes are best. Comfortable dress shoes often work well for men, but something like keds is a pretty good option. Women often wear heels; however, unless it has an ankle strap, I wouldn't recommend it. Avoid: Anything with heavy tread, flip flops, sandals, stilettos, slingbacks, and platforms.
