With the Human Library, you can do exactly that. During this event, community members will have the opportunity to check out human “books” to "read" in one-on-one conversations. Each book in our Human Library is a real person who is available to answer your questions about their unique perspective and life experiences. Difficult questions are encouraged and appreciated. The Human Library aims to ignite dialogue and understanding between people by creating a safe space to have conversations that challenge society's stereotypes and prejudices. Click "Next Available" to be directed to the proper date and select an available book and time slot. Each book can be reserved for a 30-minute time slot. You can reserve up to 2 books total (subject to availability). Your session will consist of a 10-minute orientation and a 20-minute conversation with your book. The Human Library supports the Library's goal to recognize, celebrate and increase understanding of Mountain View’s diversity and foster a community for all.
