RE: Are there any good SF venues left?

Meets

San Francisco CA

Description

There are no good venues left in SF. Most of the few remaining venues only book tribute/cover bands. The local music scene has experienced a gradual demise since it's heyday in the late 60s. Instead of music artists developing their own original creative talent, musicians started imitating their idols en masse. As a result the true art of music became a lost art in San Francisco. It takes allot of discipline and hard work to push the envelop and maintain a high level of artistic creativity. Musicians simply got lazy and fulfilled their delusions of grandeur vicariously by playing cover songs. Nowadays almost all musicians play covers, and almost none only play originals. And most "original" songs sound too much like the covers they've always played. The latest generations of so-called "musicians" are so lazy, most don't even play instruments, they call themselves DJs and rappers, etc.. Then there's the EDM crowd who actually push buttons. Anyway, the point is that there won't be any truly great music happening until musicians stop playing cover songs and start creating NEW ORIGINAL music that doesn't suck.
