WHY: Did you manage to land a desk job, only to still go home in pain?
'Tech Neck', headaches, jaw and back pain and tight traps are the new modern work place injuries. We work sometimes more than 8 hours a day at our computers and then in our off time look at our phones, tv's and tablets. This all has an impact on our posture causing muscle strain and pain!
According to OSHA "Many computer workstation tasks are highly repetitive. You may perform the same motions repeatedly at a fast pace and with little variation. When motions are isolated and repeated frequently for prolonged periods, there may be inadequate time for your muscles and tendons to recover. Combining repetitive tasks with factors such as awkward postures and force may increase the risk of injury."
Kandis York Massage Therapy and Cristi Brown of Christian Yoga and Stretch, LLC will provide us with info on how to do gentle streches at our desks during breaks and different yoga moves to try out.
WHAT: Join us for lunch and learn what you can do to prevent the risk of injury to yourself or your office staff. Feel free to bring your yoga mat and try the streches out with our instructors!

WHO: Anyone is invited! We just ask that you pre-register for the event so we will have enough food. Event is free for Chamber of Commerce members and just $10 for non-members. We welcome non-members to learn more about membership here!
