Attention ALL Kiwanis Club Leadership Teams. If you are receiving this in error - please forward this message to your new club leadership. They should be attending even if the club election has not been held. YOU have been selected as a leader to guide your fellow members through the next year of service. Are you ready? Do you have all of the knowledge, tools, and experience necessary to do the job that is expected by your Club? Truthfully, most of us are not prepared and could use a little help. As a Certified Instructor from Kiwanis International, my job is to help you get prepared to manage and lead your club in the coming year. Now is the time for planning. Active and knowledgeable leadership is a crucial part of any Kiwanis Club’s success, and an educational program has been developed to help you begin. It is called Club Leadership Education (CLE). Kiwanis International believes in this principal so strongly that they insist every incoming President and Secretary take one of the courses provided before their year begins. I believe that the most valuable and beneficial session is the in-person interactive CLE that is held in each Division. Our Division’s CLE is scheduled for Saturday, July 16, 2022 and will be held in Tampa at the University Mall #2138 the !P/Florida Blue center as a central location. It is my goal to have ALL of our clubs represented at this workshop. A lot of time and effort has been put forth to improve this workshop and it is designed entirely to help the President manage the day to day operations of a Kiwanis club and help Secretaries become familiar with the ever-changing world of Kiwanis. It is also a good idea for Treasurers, Committee Chairs, and Board Members to attend since everyone will be working as a leadership team and most of the items covered apply to all positions. Any future club leaders are also invited to attend, as there is no such thing as too much education, but attendance is imperative for all incoming Club Presidents and Secretaries. It is the responsibility of a leader to make every effort to do what will enable them to best fulfill the position to which they have been elected, and this is one of those times. Make plans to attend and please RSVP by July 12th, so we will be able to plan for an efficient workshop. Now, if you absolutely cannot attend on this date, there will be two other opportunities. Thursday August 4th 2:15-5pm at Florida District Convention, and one date in September to be determined. So, let me know as soon as possible, as leadership education is not an option, but a necessity for success. A SEPARATE Officer-Specific Training will be held virtually the week of August 1st and hosted by Kiwanis International. This does not count as CLE but is required for any officer that has not held that position in the past 3 years.
