Warehouse / General Labor - Entry-Level PrideStaff San Diego is looking for entry-level warehouse staff for our client based in south San Diego. The first 4-6 weeks will only be general labor and warehouse support and after that, the job will also include some Product Handler (Receiving) duties. This is 1st shift, full-time, Monday to Friday (varied start time pending day, 6am to 7am start), it pays $17 per hour, and it’s a temporary to permanent opportunity! Note: for the initial first 4 to 6 weeks, your job will only be general labor and warehouse support. This is a new warehouse so just general labor is needed to help set-up the warehouse for operations. Requirements: + 3-6 months recent experience in a Warehouse is required + Pallet Jack experience is required with loading and unloading shipments + Must be able to read labels and documents accurately in English (sometimes small text) + Looking for a long-term job and career opportunity + You are a hard worker and who takes pride in your job and performance + Team player + You have excellent work ethics, including being on time every day + Able and willing to be: standing/walking/bending/pulling/pushing/squatting/twisting throughout your shift every day + Able to lift/pull/move items up to 50 pounds + Willing and able to do basic and general labor as part of your role + Bilingual preferred but not required + Have a positive attitude + Able to adhere to the client's No cell phone policy whilst working + Must have a High School Diploma or GED + Reliable transportation to the Otay Mesa area. + This is a well-established and family-oriented company! Job Description/Overview: During the first 4-6 weeks, you will shadow the client's employees to learn their operational flow and process and procedures. General labor including pallet building, off-loading, sorting inventory, and a lot of general clean-up. + Receiving area - offloading pallets and products from trucks, checking the labels and documentations, and using a pallet jack to place the pallets in the accurate location (for future shipment). + Being able to read labels and documents in English to ensure accuracy is required. + Have high attention to detail so spot label/document mistakes and flag it to your supervisor if inaccurate. + Able and willing to work well with others and keep the same pace as your team. + High attention to detail is required to ensure that the box/product is going to the correct place/location. + Able and willing to help out with other tasks in the warehouse - even if it's not your core job duties. + Able and willing learn and adhere to the client’s processes and policies. + Adhere to the client's attendance policy of being on time every day. + Comply with all health and safety requirements to work within the warehouse. + Able and willing to do general labor and clean-up as part of your regular job duties.
