Description

We have come to the tough conclusion we need to rehome Boomer, our 1 year old (May 21st, 2021) Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepard/Akbash mix. We originally got him as a young puppy from a farm to be a livestock guardian for our goat herd. He grew up outside with them (is kennel trained at night) and he did great until kidding season for us. He was just too excited around the kids and loved to chase them. We ultimately separated him from the herd and transitioned him to be in our “manicured” yard with our other dogs. He gets along with all our other dogs great and our young children. He is such a sweet dog and has a goofy personality. The issue is we don’t have the time to train him to be an inside dog and he really needs more attention. I believe he could still make a good LGD if you chose that route but he needs other LGDs out there with him and helping him along. He isn’t fixed, he will lift his leg on stuff. He does like to chew and will occasionally dig. He does shed a lot. He could make a great dog for the right family and we will wait until that family comes along. He does need a lot of space. We are in no rush to rehome and will only chose to do so if it’s the right fit. If you are interested please let me know your interest and situation. Thank you, Jared
