Peak Fire Protection is seeking an entry level helper. No experience is necessary to apply but candidates with experience in fire protection or other trades will be given priority. You will assist with inspections/testing, repairs, and tenant improvements. Every day in this position will be a little different from the last but in time you will become a well rounded field tech with a lifelong career in a rewarding field. The ideal candidate: -Clean driving record -Mechanical inclination -Physically fit, ability to lift 50+ lbs -Work from a ladder -Willingness to learn to safely operate machinery such as pipe threader/roll groover, grinder, sawzall, etc. -Focus and attention to detail. -Ability to fill out detailed and legible handwritten and digital reports. Must be able to focus and take instruction, and initiative goes a long way. This is the job for someone looking for a career, not a quick gig. You will be working primarily in the Portland Metro area but must be willing to travel to all corners of the state of Oregon periodically when needed. Working hours can be inconsistent throughout the week with some days typical 9a-5p and others late nights/early mornings. With on-the-job training you will learn the ins and outs of commercial fire suppression systems including fire sprinklers, kitchen fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, and more. You will work alongside a lead technician who you will take instruction from until you have proven your ability to work alone, at which point you will be progressively given more freedom to make your own schedule and work independently or with your own helper.
